Bardan Cottage, Kingsway Dunmurry opened its doors in June 2015 with the aim to provide much needed day care for the elderly in the Dunmurry area.

Our Day Care Centre

Since day one, Bardan Cottage’s day care centre in Dunmurry has been fully welcomed by the local community, and we have gained the trust, support and praise of all who have passed through our doors. Offering the same exceptional standards as our sister facility in Newcastle, Bardan Cottage Kingsway is a welcome, relaxing and enjoyable retreat for our guests, where we strive to make every day an interactive and positive experience.
Every element of the centre has been designed to meet the needs of the older people in our community, and people with dementia, with factors such as lighting, orientation and environment at the forefront of the design. This thoughtful layout helps to alleviate, rather than aggravate, the symptoms of our guests who suffer from dementia, poor eyesight, poor hearing and other conditions.

Our Facilities

The centre is designed to meet the needs of the Crompton Report, which aims to keep people in the community, and provides person-centred activities daily to keep everyone active. Everyone is welcome and they can attend as often as they please. The peaceful, yet stimulating, environment is carefully split into 6 designated areas which are:

Large Lounge

Our comfortable and relaxing lounge area where our guests can socialise and enjoy the craic with their new friends

Dining room

Our spacious and welcoming dining room where our guests can enjoy beautiful home cooked food with a choice of drinks and fantastic company.

Reminiscence Room

A special part of Bardan Cottage Dunmurry, where our guests are comforted by the traditional décor that transports them back to the times of their younger years.

Cinema Room

The dry activity room/movie room where guests can enjoy a classic movie of their choice on the big screen, or brush up on their computer skills

Activity Room

Guests can enjoy a frame of pool, a game of chess, or countless other activities including painting, crafting and much more.

Wet Room

Our facilities have been carefully designed for the safety of our elderly guests.
